Niecey

Here's a few photo's of my beautiful wife Niecey and son Isaac taken during a visit to Fountains Abbey in York at the weekend with our good friends Karen, Peter & Joe Fish - sorry, Joseph ;-). I planned to use the visit to take my wife's maternity photo's as our new little bundle will be joining us within the next few weeks, maybe earlier if she's as big as Isaac was at birth ;-)

My family and friends are so important in my life, they keep me motivated and support me in my career as a photographer which is the best job in the world. I really do love being able to capture moments in time and turn them into more than just a picture.

Kelly

Kelly needed a formal B&W pic taking for a website but as it was a beautiful day and she lives in a fantastic location, we decided to do a few outdoor shots as well. Here's a few images from the session.

Gold Award

Pleased to have received another Gold Award from the monthly SWPP competition. I entered a few images last month and although some didn't do as well as I was expecting, I did get a gold for this image which was taken during a family picnic at Ness Botanic Gardens last year. I do enjoy entering these competitions as they force me to become less emotionally attached to an image and look at it from a professional/technical point of view.

Photographers 4 Charity

Unfortunately we have all been affected in some way by Cancer, whether through personal suffering or the loss of a family member or friend.

One of my fellow SWPP members, Andrea lane was diagnosed with Cancer last year but she has been one of the lucky ones and after seeing a post about a photographer in America doing a wedding for free, Andrea wanted to 'give something back' and as a result of this, we now have over 100 UK photographers who will be offering free wedding shoots to deserving couples between October and December 2009.

The only conditions for these shoots are that the bride & groom, family & friends raise as much money as possible for Cancer Research UK.

I am planning to cover the Wirral area and will be providing a free wedding shoot including up to 6 hours coverage and a DVD of all wedding photo’s.

Please take a look at the Facebook Group for more information. In addition, a Photographers 4 Charity website is under construction and will provide more information in the near future.

Please notify as many people as possible regarding this as we need to spread the word.

Wirral Egg Run 2009

Below are a few photo's from this years Wirral Egg Run which took place on Sunday. It is an annual event raising money for local children’s charities and donating Easter eggs to hospitalised children.

This year saw one of the highest turnouts with thousands of motorcyclists making the ride from New Brighton to Clatterbridge hospital.

My father in law regularly joins the riders and I hope to take part one year. I think my son was a bit wary and confused by the event.

HTC Touch HD

I recently changed my contract phone to the HTC Touch HD (which is like an iPhone on steroids). It's a fantastic phone and I'm still getting used to using it as there's so many functions. It's great for using to display a slideshow of my portfolio.
The built in camera isn't brilliant, it's 5mp and has no flash which for me I'm happy with as I prefer natural light photography and only use the phone as a camera if I haven't got another available.

Louise & Jeremy

Congratulations to Mr & Mrs Stevens who were married today at Liverpool Town Hall. It was my first shoot at the Town Hall and although a bit limited on time we still managed to get some wonderful shots.

It was a beautiful wedding with plenty of tears, laughter and fun.

My aim as a wedding photographer is to try and capture the day as it unfolds with as little interruption and direction from me as possible other than a few posed shots for creative purposes.
